A Little Bit More About Me

My name is Elena, and I’m the hands behind Pottery Breeze — a collection of handmade ceramic work shaped by stillness, imperfection, and joy. My studio is nestled in a quiet place where the rhythm of the wheel and the warmth of clay guide my days.

In the winter of 2014, storyteller Jennifer Ellitoson and photographer Natashchia Wielink spent time with me to explore my life as a potter. Their visit was an intimate glimpse into my creative world — my tools, my process, and the quiet moments that shape each piece. Jennifer later wrote about our time together, capturing the spirit of what it means to live and work slowly, with your hands in the earth.

In August 2015, ceramic artist and author Kristen Ciccarelli (of Two Cent Sparrow and represented by Woods Worth Books) invited me to be part of her Hearts & Hands Interview series — a space for potters to share their journeys, philosophies, and challenges. It was an honor to speak candidly about the tension between creativity and sustainability, the magic of failure, and the power of handmade work in a digital world.

One month later, in September 2015, I was humbled to have my story published on JAGGAR International — a platform for discerning, ambitious women. The piece was part of their 'Success Stories' section, highlighting female creators and entrepreneurs pursuing their work with passion and vision. It felt surreal to see my humble studio and quiet lifestyle featured among such vibrant, driven voices.

Today, I continue to work in small batches — creating mugs, bowls, vases, and everyday pieces with intention. Every object begins as raw clay and becomes something useful, beautiful, and honest. I believe in the slow process, the quiet value of things made by hand, and the deep connection between maker and material.

Thank you for being here, and for bringing this craft into your life in any way that feels meaningful. May these pieces bring warmth to your table, and stillness to your space.
